The research aims to understand the evolving incentives and barriers of the initial and continued involvement in citizen observatories from the perspective of three main stakeholder groups (the citizens, the scientists and the policy/decision makers) by applying a behavioural approach from the field of social psychology approach. The research will be focused on the citizen observatories developed by Project Ground Truth 2.0 in 3 pilot cases Netherlands, Belgium and Kenya.
