Climate change in Thailand has heightened concerns due to the increased risks of floods and droughts stemming from shifting weather patterns. These changes pose significant threats to agriculture, water resources, and infrastructure, revealing the insufficiency of existing protective measures, emphasizing the need for prompt, sustainable solutions.
The Netherlands has made notable progress in implementing large-scale nature-based solutions along the river Rhine, offering not only flood protection but also promoting ecosystems and co-benefits.
This research project explores the potential of nature-based solutions in Thailand, with a specific focus on comparing these approaches to practices in Western Europe, particularly the Netherlands.
