Explore existing and design new approaches of delivery of public goods by farmers (dairy, arable and fruit) in the Netherlands. More specifically this is done by 1. Analysing and reviewing existing agri-environmental contracts in the Netherlands and creating insight in parties involved, types of contracts, and impact; 2. Surveying and interviewing farmers in the Netherlands to understand decision making factors regarding delivery of public goods through specific farm management practices (e.g. agricultural nature management and nature inclusive farming) and their participation in contract schemes; 3. Based on the collected data, develop an agent based model to simulate the performance of new contracts with farmers for the delivery of public goods.
