Design strategies that incorporate urban climate adaptation are available, but are insufficiently implemented in urban design practice. This research will find out why the integration of urban climate adaptation in urban design practice is not sufficiently happening, and how knowledge about urban microclimate can effectively be integrated into design processes. In the first part of the research collected data of an international survey will be analysed to study why integration is (not) happening. In the second part the researcher will take an active role as a designing researcher to develop and test potential ways of urban climate knowledge integration in urban design processes.
