Being an expert in your field can add value to complex challenges. Challenges can also arise that need transdisciplinary collaboration to find new solutions. Challenges such as facing conflicting opinions and interests with colleagues, partners, etc.
What will you learn during the workshop?
In this workshop we reflect on your own thought patterns, practice ways to work with opposing views and experience how constructive interactions can help you as a scientist in society. You will learn how you unconsciously have an impact on the direction of a conversation and how to reflect on the level of objectivity during conversations. You will increase your awareness to observe more closely and intervene in such a way that might result in solutions you never thought of.
This workshop is given by Sigrid Smeele from De Droomfabriek [The Dream Factory]. Sigrid is WUR-alumna who graduated in the field of biotechnology. After a career in the industry, she transitioned to being a full-time facilitator as she always had a feel for transdisciplinary and collaborative work approaches.
