Dark Waters tells the shocking en true story of lawyer Rob Bilott (Oscar® nominee Mark Ruffalo) who has just become a partner at a prestigious legal firm. As a corporate lawyer for various large chemical companies he has already proven himself and his future looks secure.

When he is approached at work by a farmer from West Virginia, who claims that toxic waste is being discharged on his land, ruining his harvest and killing his livestock, Bilott becomes embroiled in a personal conflict. Hoping to uncover the truth, Bilott finally files a complaint against the DuPont chemicals group. He realizes he must fight for justice for a community that for years has been exposed to deadly chemicals.
