In the past decades, increasing interest and urge towards resource recovery from wastewater has been stimulating the development of relevant technologies. However, finding suitable solutions is not straightforward due to multi-disciplinary challenges. In this research a tool-box was developed, consisting of mathematically formulated indicators and models, which can facilitate decision-making to find economic, technically feasible, environmental sound and socially responsible resource recovery solutions at optimal scales, considering the local constraints and priorities. This way this project contributes to optimizing the implementation of technical solutions via process modelling of individual technologies and combinations thereof.
